Independent examination

Know more about the watch.

Two ways to examine the evidence. A documented report with clear findings, scope and limitations.

Online photographic authentication

$100

A careful review of photographs, identifying marks and available documentation. Useful as an initial assessment or before committing to a purchase.

  • Visible case, dial, hands, crown and bracelet details
  • Reference and marking consistency
  • Written findings, image references and next steps

No physical examination or internal verification. Concealed parts and sophisticated alterations can remain undetected. A report may be inconclusive.

Request photo authentication

Physical / in-person authentication

$300

An examination of the watch itself, by appointment or approved mail-in arrangement, with a documented report.

  • External condition, identifiers and component consistency
  • Accessible movement examination when opening is authorized and safe
  • Recorded scope, findings, limitations and conclusion

Full disassembly, pressure testing, material assays, appraisal and repair require a separate agreement. Shipping and the optional kit cost extra.

Request physical authentication

Before you buy

A second look before a decision.

Send the listing, claimed reference, clear photos and purchase or return deadline. For a physical examination, we coordinate intake with the owner’s permission. Confirm our timing before relying on a seller’s return window.

Photo review cannot establish that a seller will deliver the pictured watch. We do not offer escrow or guarantee seller refunds.

What your report includes

A reference and date; watch or image identification; evidence and components examined; observed inconsistencies or replacement parts; tests performed, if any; limitations; and a reasoned conclusion with recommended next steps.

Possible conclusions include evidence consistent with the claimed identity, observed inconsistencies, or insufficient evidence. A compatible serial number is never enough on its own.

Prepare the evidence

  1. Identify the brand, reference/model and known modifications.
  2. Supply clear front, back and side/crown photos. Provide serials privately when relevant.
  3. Tell us whether you own the watch or are considering a purchase, and confirm permission to share evidence.
  4. Review the terms, then wait for scope, fee and timing confirmation.

Do not open a watch yourself to obtain a movement photo. A qualified watchmaker can provide one when appropriate.

An independent opinion, with defined limits.

We are not a manufacturer-authorized authentication center. The report does not establish legal ownership, stolen status, market value, water resistance or future condition. Historical dating and routine repair are separate from authentication.
